Awww yeah suckaaz. We doin' this.

What hasn't happened since I last wrote in this thing? Life has quickly shifted in to top gear, every day packed with swimming in the ocean, crossing the occasional No Tresspassing fence, and reveling in every moment of having a somosa in one hand and a cold sugar cane juice in the other while walking down an uneven street with a saltwater breeze.
After some fast times in Aurangabad with Adam and a few tedious days at the Rotary Youth Leadership camp I am finally in south India with all of the other exchange students. We've got a very cool travel guide who lets us wander when we want but somehow manages to let us see all the significant tourist spots. The tour basically follows the southern coastline from Chennai (now) to Goa (one month from now), which means we can swim and have sand in our toes as much as we want.
I've got too much to say about Ajanta and Elelphanta caves, Dultabad Fort and Aurengzeb's tomb when I have time to update. For now I'm busy adding on more stories by the minute. My plan is to keep my journal up to speed--already slipping behind-- and then copy my writing to the blog when I have a moment. Pictures to follow in a few weeks. The problems with trying to keep this blog fresh is only a testament to the fact that you can't live a great life and chronicle it at the same time. At least, I can't. See you soon.

a tip on the journal--if you find yourself putting off writing because a lot happened and you don't have enough time to write all of it, just write a really short version. Even if you don't do it justice, staying up to the right date is the absolute most important thing, because then you'll start slipping behind and eventually lose track entirely. So maybe make a few entries "Thursday--had fun at festival" and move along.

If you want to see what happens if you try to make them all detailed, you can refer to my journal from Malawi (which mysteriously drops off right before the safari) or www.newzealygingi.blogspot.com

Daniel,
I'm sooo glad I finally got to this site. What an amazing journey -- in every sense of the word. I'll tell Sophie to check it out, too. She's going to Argentina to study in January, but I'm sure she won't be as ambitious as this.
As your mother's friend, let me say, BE CAREFUL!!! Max

Brothers' blog is titled "Big Mistake", hehehe.

and there aren't any posts on it. It's like he made an account just to write comments to dan!

Which makes me wonder...what is the big mistake he's referring to? If you're going to make a blog with a random title, since you don't intend to write in it, why name it anything that could be misinterpreted as a thinly veiled threat?

Good question!
